Sage
says During the reign of the Web Empress (oh, it's
a long story) we went to a thrift store and I, in a rare fit
of frugality, bought a ratty old afghan for $1, intending
to take it apart to use the yarn for something else. I had
no idea how fun it would be or how connected I would feel
as I made the new rug to the woman who had made the afghan.
I really wished I knew her name so I could send her a photograph.
(But then maybe she would have hated the whole thought of
it so perhaps it's a good thing that I didn't.)
